Reverting Changes

Create Lab Studio tracks every edit made to episodes, scenes, and scene blocks. You can undo individual field changes or entire save actions at any time.

Opening the history panel

In the studio, click the History button (clock icon) in the top-right corner of any scene or block editor. This opens the change history panel for the current item.

Reading the history

Each row shows:

  • What changed — the field name (e.g. "text", "emotionId")
  • Old value — what it was before
  • New value — what it became
  • Who changed it — the team member's name
  • When — date and time

Rows are grouped by save action — all fields changed in a single save share the same visual group.

Reverting a single field

Click Revert on a specific row to restore just that field to its previous value. All other fields remain as they are.

Reverting an entire save

Click Revert batch on a grouped save to undo all field changes from that action at once. Useful when you want to roll back an entire round of edits.

Things to know

  • Reverting itself creates a new history entry, so you can undo a revert too
  • History is kept indefinitely for active episodes
  • Change history is read-only — you cannot delete individual records
  • Only changes to text content and metadata are tracked; media files (images, audio, video) are not part of the change history

Who can view and revert

Any team member with access to the episode can view and revert changes. There is no separate permission for history access.
