Assigning Creators to an Episode
Each episode has a team of creators — one person per role. You manage this in the Creators Modal.
Opening the Creators Modal
On the episode card, click the Assign button. Requires episode:assign permission.
How roles and stages work
Creators are organized into stages that define the production order:
- Stage 1 starts immediately when the episode begins
- Stage 2 starts after Stage 1 is marked done
- Stage 3 starts after Stage 2 is marked done
Roles within the same stage work in parallel — for example, two roles can both be in Stage 2 and work simultaneously.
Assigning a user to a role
- Find the role in the stage list
- Type or select a user in the user picker next to the role
- Click Save
To remove a user from a role without removing the role itself, clear the user field and save — the role remains with no one assigned.
Adding roles and stages
- Add Role — adds a new role to an existing stage (pick from the roles dropdown)
- Add Stage — adds a new empty stage at the bottom
- Use the ↑ / ↓ arrows to move a role to the previous or next stage
- Click × to remove a role entirely (this also deletes the associated task)
Save behavior
The Save button is disabled when nothing has changed. It only becomes active when you:
- Add or remove a role
- Change a user assignment
- Move a role between stages
When you click Save, only the changed items are updated — the system won't re-send requests for things that didn't change.
Locked episodes
If the episode is Completed or Paused, the modal opens in read-only mode — all controls are disabled.
