Voiceovers are AI-generated speech attached to dialog blocks.
Requirements
- The character in the dialog block must have a voice configured (set up by an Admin)
- You need
voiceover:generatepermission
How to record a voiceover
- Hover over a dialog block in the studio
- Click the 🔊 microphone icon in the hover menu
- The Voice Master Modal opens with the block's text pre-filled
- Optionally edit the text to improve pronunciation
- Click Generate — the AI creates the voiceover audio
- The audio plays automatically for preview
- Listen carefully
- If it's good → click Accept to save it to the block
- If you want to try again → click Regenerate
- If you want to discard → click Cancel
Listening to a saved voiceover
After a voiceover is saved, you can listen to it again by reopening the modal and clicking the â–¶ Play button in the "Saved Voice" section.
You can also play it inline from the scene view — click the ▶ Play button on the dialog block.
Downloading the audio
In the Voice Master Modal, click the ⬇ Download button to save the MP3 file to your computer.
Deleting a voiceover
In the modal, click the 🗑 Delete button (requires voiceover:delete permission). This permanently removes the audio from the block.
Tips for better results
- Punctuation matters — commas and periods affect pacing and tone
- Phonetic spelling — if a name is mispronounced, try spelling it phonetically in the text field
- Regenerate — run multiple generations and pick the best one before accepting
- Emotion context — the emotion tag on the block can help guide phrasing in the prompt
Block indicator
A dialog block with a saved voiceover shows a highlighted ring on the 🔊 button so you can see at a glance which blocks have audio.
