Task Flow

What is a task?

When you are assigned to a role on an episode, a task is automatically created for you. A task represents your individual piece of work on that episode.

Tasks have a status that tracks progress through the production workflow.

Task statuses

StatusMeaning
To DoAssigned but work hasn't started yet
In ProgressYou are actively working on this
BlockedYou're waiting on something before you can continue
DoneYour work on this episode is complete

Updating your task status

  1. Go to My Tasks in the top navigation
  2. Find the task for the episode you're working on
  3. Click the status badge to change it

You can also update the status from inside the studio view.

Task lifecycle

To Do → In Progress → Done
↕
Blocked
  • Move to In Progress when you start working
  • Move to Blocked if you're waiting for another stage to finish or need input from someone
  • Move to Done when your work on this episode is complete

Stage-based workflow

Tasks are grouped into stages per episode. The next stage starts only when the previous stage is done. This means:

  • A user in Stage 3 should wait until Stage 2 is complete
  • Moving your task to Done signals to the team that your stage is finished

Removing yourself from a task

If you need to be removed from a role on an episode, contact the person with episode:assign permission (usually an Admin) — they can remove you from the Creators Modal.
