Task Flow
What is a task?
When you are assigned to a role on an episode, a task is automatically created for you. A task represents your individual piece of work on that episode.
Tasks have a status that tracks progress through the production workflow.
Task statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| To Do | Assigned but work hasn't started yet |
| In Progress | You are actively working on this |
| Blocked | You're waiting on something before you can continue |
| Done | Your work on this episode is complete |
Updating your task status
- Go to My Tasks in the top navigation
- Find the task for the episode you're working on
- Click the status badge to change it
You can also update the status from inside the studio view.
Task lifecycle
To Do → In Progress → Done
↕
Blocked
- Move to In Progress when you start working
- Move to Blocked if you're waiting for another stage to finish or need input from someone
- Move to Done when your work on this episode is complete
Stage-based workflow
Tasks are grouped into stages per episode. The next stage starts only when the previous stage is done. This means:
- A user in Stage 3 should wait until Stage 2 is complete
- Moving your task to Done signals to the team that your stage is finished
Removing yourself from a task
If you need to be removed from a role on an episode, contact the person with episode:assign permission (usually an Admin) — they can remove you from the Creators Modal.
